Beautiful souls Beautiful minds

My grandmother the mother to my mother is one of the most strangest and most beautiful soul I have ever met. She came from a little valley in north Iceland where the people had been isolated through the ages and marriages among cousins where not uncommon as it happen to be the case with her own parents.

Her name was as beautiful as she wore but it is Sumar Rós. Meanig "The Rose Of The Summer."

I think she was the last member of siblings of 12, but that I do not remember exactly. Her parents wore common workers and at the age of 5 she had to leave them to work for her own survival. To start with as a baby sitter to a daughter of a farm owner, a girl 3 years old that she carried through the wetlands and the swamps as she delivered the Shepard his packed lunch. You see the daughter of the farmer could not get wet on her feet. She did not mind her self at all. A child 5 years old.

There is many things to be sayd about this beautiful being, my grandmother. God bless her soul. And her life wasn't at all easy. She got away from the valley and moved on later to the capital of Iceland where she met my grandfather who had been working from the age of 12 to support his family that lived in a one room in little house sheared by 3 families.

My grandmother had tuberculosis and fought against it for many years through her life. That resulted in loosing most of her friends, cos it was a serious and deadly thing at the time. People wore scered. And she did  have her children taken away from her, placed with others families and some institutions from time to time. Having her husband as a sailor not been able to be there cos those times where hard ad his job crucial for the family survival.

The most extraordinary about my grandmother was her attitudes for life like she used to say "all things that live feel pain and have the same right to life" as she took a cloth and captured a spider or a fly and let them out of her house alive and unharmed. She did also forbid us to throw stones at cliffs and out in the open cos we could hit something that was there. Even thou it was not to be seen with the human eye.

Even thou she was a strong believer of our saviour the Lord Jesus Christ, her visions where not exactly what the bible teach. You see she wore a psychic and she saw the dead and communicated with them as she did with elves and that happened both ways in her dreams and awake. She did also get glimts from the future as she predicted in the midst of her life her own death, and 40 years later it happen exactly as she predicted it.

When it comes to elves she and her husband built a Cabin just outside of Reykjavik with beautiful lava surroundings where I as a child often dveld with them.
The elves in Icelandic folk lore (also called the hidden people) are not small beings with funny hats. They look exactly like us, but happens to be more civilised and have some magic powers like they can cast a spell if we do not behave gentle against them and they do take revenges if harmed. But they do also bring fortunes and luck for those that behave fair to them and respect them. They are not to been seen by us in their own world, unless they want you to. But they live in dimension that is happening at the same time as our and they can see us when wanted.

What we see as huge stones or cliffs are in they're dimension houses and we have in Iceland built roads around famous elves stones cos when attempt to move them, our machinery just turned off  and couldn't be turned on again and accidents happened to those who where driving it .

One of our most famous elves city's in Iceland are Dimmu Borgir in English Dark City's (some call it the gate to hell)  and are the church of the elves most famous. Its a magical place and you can really feel unexplained presence around you. Like you are being watched.

In one of the lava cliffs around my grandparents cabin she said that it lived an elves family and we wore forbitten to play there.

As the story turned out to be that the elve lady in the cliff had visited my grandmother in a dream while she was sleeping in the cabin. The elve presented it self to my grandmother and said where she lived. She wore in need. It needed help and needed to barrow some stuff that she asked my grandmother for. My grandmother with all her respect for all living creatures to be seen or not to be seen could never denied no one in need and did of course go along with this. Then the elve said to her that she would show her her gratitude in that she would protect her cabin and as long as it belong to my grandmother. It would never be sabotaged with burglary. And it never did thou it happen to all the other cabins around it.

The strangest thing is a week after it was sold it had a burglary.
The people that bought it had to give it up because of a constant burglaries.

Its a thing I cant explain.

I miss those people every single day and their mentality of beauty and mysteries that seams to have vanished from the earth with their generation,

Beautiful souls Beautiful minds,

R.I.P.
